Which Truck Tent is Right for You?
Roof Top Tents
These are by far the most popular version of truck tents today. Roof Top Tents typically mount on a metal rack above the truck bed. This allows for full use of your truck bed so you can store gear and supplies beneath the tent.

Roof Top Tents are also extremely easy to set up and take down. Most tents unfold in minutes and don't require tools for setup. Bedding can be stored right in the tent and many tents include built-in mattresses and telescoping ladders.

Another advantage of rooftop tents is the ability to customize your tent. Most manufacturers provide accessory options including LED light systems and annex rooms to increase the space inside your tent.
Truck Bed Tents
Truck bed tents are another way to outfit your truck for overland adventures. While not as popular as the roof top tents, truck bed tents do have their advantages.

The major advantage these offer is low cost. Truck bed tents often cost a fraction of what a roof top tent costs and don't require the purchase of a separate rack to install.
